GamiCon48V 2027

Through the Portal

March 22–24, 2027 | 48 Hours | One Global Experience

What happens when you enter a learning experience as one person and leave it changed?

Welcome to GamiCon48V 2027: Through the Portal, a 48-hour global experience for people who design learning, build learning experiences, experiment with gameful design, and believe learning should be something people participate in, not simply consume.

Across 48 hours, you’ll move through a temporary world built around exploration, participation, creation, and connection. You won’t simply watch presentations. You’ll experiment, make choices, meet people from around the world, experience gameful learning firsthand, and build ideas you can carry back into your own work.

The experience unfolds in 6-hour rotations hosted from regions around the globe, making GamiCon48V a truly international event.

Inside the Portal

Experience Leaders will bring ideas, challenges, demonstrations, conversations, and experiences designed to get you involved rather than keep you watching from the sidelines.

Hands-On Design gives you opportunities to experiment, create, test ideas, and experience gameful learning as both a learner and a designer.

Global Connections bring together learning professionals, instructional designers, educators, game designers, and curious creators from around the world.

The GamiCon Throwdown Showcase puts completed gamification and game-based learning projects center stage, giving you a chance to see what other designers are actually creating and learn from their work.

Over the course of the experience, you’ll move from visitor to explorer, participant, contributor, inhabitant, and finally returner, carrying something from GamiCon48V back into your own world.

Not a tour of the future. A place to inhabit it. Your journey begins when you step through the portal.
